Planning a team stay around Barcelona's congress calendar
A congress has its own timetable. A house for the team gives the time around it a different purpose, provided the venue journey works for everyone.
Make room for the team around the congress
A congress trip can become a string of badge scans, appointments and late dinners. Sometimes a team wants a quieter place to gather around that schedule: to begin the day together, compare notes afterwards, or reserve a separate day for a conversation that would be difficult on a trade-show floor. Casa Vilá Reyes is a house in Sant Vicenç de Montalt on the Maresme coast, suited to considering that kind of shared stay. It is not at the congress venue, and the journey needs to be part of the decision from the start.
Most of the events below are at Fira Gran Via in L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, not in central Barcelona. Barcelona Wine Week is the exception here: its 2027 edition is at Fira Montjuïc in Barcelona. When asking about the house, give us your event, the number of people, arrival and departure dates, and the times when everyone must be at the venue. We can then discuss whether the shape of the stay makes sense; travel arrangements, any additional services and the house's availability require separate confirmation.
What to decide before choosing a house
Start with the actual working day. Does everyone need to reach the first session together, or will some members travel independently? Is there an evening reception at the venue? A team with back-to-back meetings and early starts may need a very different plan from one using the congress as the anchor for a longer retreat. Allow for traffic and the event's own entrance arrangements rather than relying on a fixed journey time.
Then consider the group itself: who needs a bedroom, who is visiting for a meeting, and when people will genuinely be together. The house and Pool House comparison can help frame a conversation about spaces; room allocation, working setup and meals need to be agreed for the specific stay. The shared spaces give the team somewhere to continue conversations after the congress day.

A little time beyond the venue
If the schedule leaves room, make one easy plan on the coast rather than filling every free hour. A walk by El Balís marina, a visit to Fundació Palau in Caldes d'Estrac, or a tasting at Art Laietà in Alella can give the group a conversation away from the stands. Dates, admission and bookings belong to the individual operators. Our guide to the Maresme beyond summer offers four flexible ways to use that time.
If this balance of work and time together appeals to you, tell us about the event and your group. We can discuss the house, dates and practical questions before anyone makes a commitment.
